Burned was way better than the first 6 books (I can’t believe it took P.C.Cast 7 books to finally get it right!! ) in aspects like plot, narration and character depth.Every character was given a significant role in this book; even annoying ones like Heath.
I felt connected to what transpired in the ‘Otherworld’ between Heath and Zoey and could at last see what Zoey saw in that cute boyish self.
The plot was a hundred times better in this book; what with delving deeper into ancient magic and revealing elements of eternal balance viz. Light and Darkness was a good way to go.
I found it a little hard to follow the name and ways of the Queen of Isle of Women but I’m hoping we will get to know her better in the forthcoming books.
I don’t understand the part where the Queen takes Aphrodite’s bitchy-ness in a comical light-heartedness. C’mon a Queen who has been isolated from the rest of the world for ages, surrounded by the Best of the Best warriors taking sh*t from a teenage mortal girl ? Didn’t work for me.
Please continue this way and reduce the boyfriend drama and the stupid self obsession of Zoey. Let her grow and mature and act that way.
I do hope Rephaim chooses the good side and fights in Zoey’s battle against Kalona. Stevie Rae and Rephaim make such a good pair!!
I loved the balance of love, hatred, wit and plot twists this book had and hope this continues till the end of the series.
